The Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PTC), accredited by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) in the United States, opens doors for professionals to perform blood draws on a diverse population across various healthcare facilities. Some phlebotomists even hold unique roles, such as collecting blood samples from life insurance applicants in the comfort of their homes for underwriting procedures.

The demand for careers in phlebotomy remains exceptionally high across nearly all healthcare settings. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in 2021, there is a projected growth rate of 22% in the field between 2022 and 2030. This growth rate significantly surpasses the national average of 4% for all occupations during the same period. The healthcare industry is expected to create approximately 28,800 new phlebotomy positions over the course of the decade. These opportunities extend to various settings, including hospitals, medical and diagnostic laboratories, ambulatory healthcare, physician offices, and outpatient care centers.
